ARTIST'S BIOGRAPHY

"I was fortunate to have grown up in the art colony of Rockport, Massachusetts and to have been exposed to plein air painting by my father and his associates at a very early age. My attraction to the French and American Impressionists and my choice of art as a career grew from and was nurtured by this environment."

Following high school, Caleb studied Art at the Lyme Academy in Connecticut. Since that time he has been regularly teaching, traveling and painting. He works in both oil and watercolor. He has been the recipient of numerous awards including the John Stobart Fellowship for Outdoor Painting and the Carleton Wiggins Scholarship for Painting.

Relationship to Monhegan:

Caleb first visited Monhegan Island in 1971 and has been going regularly ever since. He offers week-long painting workshops on the island each spring and fall.
